I was recently talking with a former entrepreneur (yes, I said former) and the subject of closed businesses came up. She mentioned that prior to becoming a business owner, and when working a J.O.B., she used to think badly when she heard that someone closed a business. 

Not anymore, she says, after she took a run at operating her own business for three years. As a "solopreneur" she realized that there were challenges that she CHOSE not to accept and closed her business and went in another direction. 

One of the challenges we talked about was having FUN, finding passion and being able to accomplish that in your chosen profession or business model. I frequently talk to business owners, large and small, and I tell them, "What you think you are going to do or sell, will 9 times out of 10, NOT be what you end up doing - even in the same business." Most importantly, "What you don't know, you don't know." These things come from working in your business day to day and you have to take it one step at a time. Something that you once thought was exciting, now at the 4,000th repetitive iteration of it, drives you CRAZY!!!
